Being at the game was stoked for the matchup as recently the better the competition the better Ducks have played.
After the 1st however and even during it ... some serious breakdowns defensively left JG hamstrung.
There has to be a better option that Jacob on the backend. Muhura or Welinski must be better as Jacob continues to make boneheaded plays. That Kessel disaster was the last straw for me with him.
And can we just please stop running Kesler out there. I’d rather have Sam or Isac against Sidney the way he abused Kes last night. It was embarrassing.
The 1st period showed how this team can play, good cycles down low, quality looks and goals from in close. After the 1st though the Pens just turned up the burners and left Ducks gasping.
Keep NR / Kase / Rico / Sprong / Silf / Raks & JG
Everyone else and I mean everyone even the skipper and this supposedly great D shoud be available for trades... enough already.

The fact that we’re halfway through the season and the same problems since game one are still occurring despite a healthier lineup shows it’s time for Carlyle to go. His play style doesn’t belong in today’s league. Some serious salary dumps need to happen. Kesler, Cogliano, perry, and one of fowler/Manson should be traded. Start prepping for the future, free up salary for this off-season that’s gonna have plenty of UFA’s. Our D-core isn’t as good as it was made out to be. We lack a true, top line and depth scoring. Besides goaltending, there is no strength with this team.

Sprong has been good for the Ducks but Peterssen has reinvigorated the Pens back and. Their record since the trade is phenomenal.

Ugh. This streak has been exasperating. This team is finally getting exposed for what it is. The lack of a top end scorer has really hamstrung this team. It's been so bad that this team night after night has to scratch out every win anyway they can. And good goaltending has given them that opportunity. I mean when's the last time we had a blow out. When you have a top line that can dominate play it allows the team to take a deep breath and recover.

If this keeps up we won't be just talking about firing Randy. Because he's just the front guy. The man on the front lines. The fans may actually might start to go after Bob. The real architect of this train wreak. And he's also the only guy who can fix it. We really need a top line foward. Duchenne, Stone, Pannerian all need to be looked at. Even next level guys like Kreider, Skinner ect will help.

In the mean time this team looks beat. Like they just boxed 9 rounds and they don't seem to be looking foward to the next. Randy has to find a way to rejuvenate this squad. And more practice is not the answer to a burnt out team. Although it's always important. I'm sure we'll get a win. But fixing the morale of this team has to be implemented soon.

eh, pettersson's been good but the one change in the pens winning ways has been their goalie save % at 5v5. still wish we had sprong. guy who can pot between 20-30 is valuable no matter how sh!t the defense. can live with it

Guys who score 30 but are on the ice for 40 against aren't valuable

65% Offensive Zone starts, 4 even strength goals and a minus 7

Ducks already have terrible possession stats and he's 3% worse relative to his teammates

People should remember, Goal Sucks score goals, most of us have played with these types of guys. They have the biggest celly's when they score but they are frustrating as hell to play with and the first guys slinking off the ice when you are fishing the puck out of the back of your own net

this is the exact criticism against phil kessel for most of his career. being a one dimensional rodent who slinks off the ice when the pucks in his net

Kessels 4 year sample size in Pittsburgh has him as a + player, positive possession metrics and an elite PP scorer..., same goes for the 2 years in Boston

Toronto was an all around terrible team, but despite playing with guys like Bozak as his primary center, his possession metrics were positive relative to his teams

Try again
